Elements of Style?

"Be clear"
"Do not explain too much"
"Omit needless words"
"Do not inject opinion"

The author of this article, Geoffrey Pullum, writes for The Chronicle, and he offers up that grammatical style books such as the famous American version written by Strunk and White, has resulted in several generations of college students who feel "vaguely anxious and insecure whenever they write "however"... but can't tell you why."

Paper Art

Words are nothing more than black ink on a page, that get turned into meaning and magic when interpreted by a reader.

This design website takes this to another level and has created art from paper. The simplicity and intricacy is remarkable.

Book Shelf Book Club

This site also functions as a celebration of book clubs, formal and informal. For what greater a pleasure than good company, comforting food and wine, and a book to talk about into the wee hours?

Please, leave your suggestions on this site as to books you are reading, want to read, would like to see reviewed, or to request book club notes.

I happily provide services to book clubs, such as comprehensive book club notes and discussion points, book reviews, and book suggestions.
